Gender Diversity Certificate Registration & Policies
Course Registration
Admission to the Gender Diversity in Children & Youth Certificate Program is required to enroll in classes. Admission decisions and notifications will be made on a rolling basis.
Completion of the courses within Gender Diversity in Children & Youth Certificate Program must be done in sequence. This Program is offered in a cohort-based model and unless there are extraordinary circumstances, students are expected to complete the program within 3 semesters.
Upon admission, students must enroll in class 1 (Patriarchy, Transmisogyny and the Science of Human Diversity) by the deadline communicated by CCE to secure a place in the Program.
Registration for subsequent courses in the Program must be completed no less than 5 business days prior to the start of each class. Earlier is preferred.
Registration is facilitated by the Center for Community Engagement.
Dropping a Course
Dropping a course must be done prior to the class start date. Course tuition and fees will be reversed if the course is dropped before or on the first day of class. After the first day of class, a $25 late drop fee will be assessed and tuition will be prorated according to the tuition refund schedule. Course fees are nonrefundable.
If a student drops an individual course (but wishes to complete the Gender Diversity Certificate Program), the remaining courses in the Program may be completed in the following year. If students are unable to resume their participation in the Program the following year, they must reapply to the program when they are ready to resume.
To drop a course, students must complete the Certificate Program CE Course Drop Form.
Ceasing to attend a class, whether or not you have notified the instructor does not relieve you of the responsibility to complete the course drop process described above.
Students may withdraw from a course if they have completed up to 75% of the course*. In this case, a grade notation of “W” (withdrawn) is recorded for that course. Withdrawals are not permitted after 75% of the course. Students who stop attending a course after 75% will not be eligible for a “W” and will receive an “NC” (no credit) grade.
*The percentage of the course completed is calculated based on the period between the first course meeting and the last course meeting (not the number of course meetings attended).
Withdrawal from the Program
Students who find it necessary to withdraw from the Gender Diversity in Children & Youth Certificate Program must initiate withdrawal by completing the withdrawal form.
Ceasing to attend classes in the Program, whether or not you have notified the instructor does not relieve you of the responsibility to complete the Withdrawal process described above.
