Hello reader of this website, my name is PJ Jimenez. I am a nonbinary person of color art therapy student in my third year at Lewis and Clark Graduate School. I was born and raised in Connecticut, and I moved here to Portland Oregon to pursue my dream of becoming an art therapist. I’ve had the pleasure of doing my internship at Unity Behavioral Health Center, which is a mental health crisis center located here in Portland Oregon. Prior to internship I did my practicum with the Lewis and Clark Open Studio, located in the Lewis and Clark Counseling Center. Both my practicum and internship sites have influenced the work I’ve done in this program as well as my art therapist identity.
Artist Statement
Orange is healing.
Orange is ugly.
Orange is painful.
Orange is injuries.
Orange is the color that I hate the most.
Orange sits in a self-soothing pose that I find myself often.
Orange demands to be looked at.
Orange hates the spotlight.
Orange is vulnerable.
Orange is patience.
Orange is sometimes just Orange.
I Hate Orange
