Lindsey Winkler is a third year art therapy student at Lewis and Clark who aims to work with individuals and groups who are affected in some way by caregiving. Lindsey is interested in using art therapy to add a layer of creative processing in order to access stored emotions in the body and to cultivate community among like-minded individuals. She uses a strength based-approach and embraces elements of mindfulness and self compassion in her work as an artist and art therapist.
Artist Statement
This artwork chronicles the last 13 weeks during my training to become an Art Therapist. I used alcohol ink on yupo paper to help with self-regulation. I used acrylic paint markers to recount lessons, frustrations, and questions that I gathered throughout my internship.
