Nichole Champion

Counseling, Therapy, and School Psychology department, Professional Mental Health Counseling program

2025-26 Graduate Student Union Network Representative Nichole Chamption My name is Nichole Champion, and I am a first-year graduate student in the Professional Mental Health Counseling program at Lewis & Clark Graduate School. I recently earned my BA in Psychology from Lewis & Clark College. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I moved to Portland in 2018 to embrace a new trajectory and a breath of fresh air.

I am passionate about mental health, wellness, and building community. I am currently working on a project called the Holistic Wellness Initiative (HWI), a youth-focused nonprofit that creates spaces for young people to explore well-being through mindfulness, art, yoga, and nature-based activities. Through this work, I have cultivated skills in leadership, collaboration, and advocacy that I am eager to bring into my role as a Graduate School Student Union Network Representative.

My primary goal as a SUN Representative is to weave holistic wellness into the graduate school experience. Graduate education is both rewarding and demanding, and I believe intentional wellness programming such as stress-regulation workshops, yoga and meditation sessions, creative arts spaces, and peer support groups can help students navigate academic pressures and life stressors.

Outside of school and community work, I love engaging in the arts and physical movement whether through painting, crocheting, dancing, running, yoga, or hiking as these practices keep me grounded and nurture my passion for holistic well-being.

Jorge Orozco-Roller

Counseling, Therapy, and School Psychology department, Professional Mental Health Counseling—Specialization in Addictions program

2025 Graduate Student Union Network representative Jorge Orozco-Roller Hello! My name is Jorge Orozco-Roller, a second year Professional Mental Health Counseling- Addictions student and Graduate Assistant at the Center for Social Change & Community Involvement here at Lewis & Clark. My job at the Center is to bring meaningful volunteer opportunities to students that enact social change not only here in Portland but across the globe. As your newly elected SUN representative, I hope to add to the richness of our education through experiential learning opportunities that put Lewis & Clark graduate students amongst the communities they wish to serve.

I am a Third Culture Kid and proud Mexican-American with big dreams to give back to marginalized communities here in the PNW. My belief is that seeing and doing need to happen in tandem to effectively prepare us to enter the field of counseling as advocates for our clients. This is not an easy line of work, but by building connections and strengthening our communities I am confident that we can make change happen both in our backyard and at the national level.

In my spare time I enjoy painting, kayaking, reality TV, and bird watching. Feel free to connect with me about anything and everything. I am here for YOU!
