Dr. Christopher Potts (he/his) is a student affairs professional, consultant, DEI educator, and
higher education scholar with 16 years of experience serving students in a variety of functional
areas that have included counseling & student support, student conduct & care, student life,
and residence life.

Dr. Potts is passionate about supporting students and meeting them where they are in their
journeys. He is an advocate for creating trauma-informed spaces where students feel they
belong, are welcomed, and matter.

He is a published scholar with research focusing on antidefict theoretical frameworks of student success for Black males attending predominantly White community colleges, mentoring experiences of Latinx community college students, and complexion and phenotype in Portland, Oregon.

He received his BA in Criminal Justice from Washington State University in Pullman, WA, an MS in Conflict Resolution and Post Graduate Certificate in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Portland State University, and PhD. in Adult and Higher Education from Oregon State University.
