Brief Background
I went straight from high school to college. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon University, and then found a great job. After getting married and having kids, I was a stay-at-home parent for many years. I went back to work in an elementary school working with special needs kids. This work has been really fulfilling and full of joy. It was at my work in schools that I found out about the part-time MAT program and knew it was for me.
What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?
Lewis & Clark Graduate School has always had a reputation for being a spectacular school. I like its mission statement, as it aligns with my views. I also liked that for the MAT program, the class size was small. Lewis & Clark also made it easy for me to fit this program in my busy schedule and still keep my day time job.
How did your scholarship award influence your decision to attend Lewis & Clark?
My award was imperative in me being able to attend Lewis & Clark. I was able to not have to worry about getting a second job in order to pay for school. It allowed me to not worry about a large tuition bill and know that my Master’s program would be financially manageable to me.
