Amy C. Wang is an Assistant Professor in Higher Education & Student Affairs. At Lewis & Clark College, she teaches courses on equity and social justice in higher education, critical pedagogies, and student development theories.
Dr. Wang’s scholarship examines race and racism in higher education and is grounded in social justice and equity. Specifically, she critiques inequity in higher education and amplifies how marginalized populations navigate and disrupt the system from within. Her dissertation looked at how neoliberalism shaped Asian American initiatives, including curricular, co-curricular, and policy efforts. She also identified how these initiatives navigate and leverage neoliberalism to advance the needs and interests of Asian Americans on campus. In 2024, she received a total of 3 Outstanding Dissertation of the Year awards from the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE) and American Educational Research Association (AERA) Special Interest Group (SIG) - Critical Examination of Race, Ethnicity, Class, and Gender and AERA SIG - Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Education and Research.
Previous to her doctoral work, Dr. Wang completed her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Denver. During her master’s program, she worked in various assistantships in health promotion, the office of inclusive excellence, and residential life.
Outside of higher education, Amy can be found listening to K-pop and playing with her senior pup, Mango.
