Paula Barran, a founding partner of Barran Liebman LLP, has been practicing labor and employment law. She has written extensively on management law and is a national speaker and trainer. She advises colleges and universities on wide-ranging compliance issues including institutional obligations under Title VI, Title IX, and VAWA, and has earned an ATIXA Title IX Coordinator Certificate.
Since the first publication of Oregon Super Lawyers Magazine, Dr. Barran has repeatedly been named a “Top Ten Lawyer” and has been honored as the “Top Point Getter” in 2008, 2010, and 2017-2022. Dr. Barran earned her BA from the College of William and Mary, MA from Cornell University, PhD from the University of British Columbia, JD, with honors, from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and MBA from the University of Oregon, Oregon Executive MBA program. Most recently, she earned her Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University.
