Elementary MAT Alum Is TikTok Star Teacher Tom @birdoftheweek
Tom Myers ’13 teaches third and fourth graders at Skyline Elementary and, thanks to his popular TikTok channel Teacher Tom @birdoftheweek, inspires young ornithologists across the globe.

He creates the popular @birdoftheweek videos every Sunday to share with his class on Monday morning, noting that the most popular videos tend to feature common birds that elementary students are familiar with. Myers’ channel currently has 235K followers and his videos can receive millions of views.
Myers has been creating his “Bird of the Week” videos for over three years and tends to post birds who frequent Oregon, Washington and California.

The certificate program approaches well-being from an integrated ecological perspective, teaching students how to work in and with nature using relational, somatic, verbal, spiritual, and artistic expressions.
