Tune In: OWP Teachers and Coaches on the Airwaves and in Classrooms

Writing Project teachers are teaching from their virtual classrooms, preaching on the airwaves, and motivating writers in all spaces. Read a few recent highlights below!

BIPOC teachers can join Jacqueline Fitzgerald, OWP Writing Coach and middle school teacher, for two-hour workshop beginning October 18th on Zoom. This Literary Arts class is open to writers of color at levels writing in poetry, fiction or nonfiction.

Ursula Wolfe-Rocca, OWP Writing Coach and Zinn Education Writer and Organizer, has written many fabulous articles. At this moment when classroom discussions focus on Black Lives Matter, Ursula has written Repair: Students Design a Reparations Bill. In this activity, students take on the role of activists-experts to improve upon a Congressional bill for reparations for Black people. They talk back to Congress’ flimsy legislation and design a more robust alternative.
