  • Graduates of Lewis & Clark’s school counseling program interested in becoming an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) may contact the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT) for information on the licensure process. Also, candidates may contact the School Counseling Program Director for additional information.
  • While faculty from Lewis & Clark’s school counseling program or the graduate registrar’s office may be able to complete OBLPCT licensure forms on a graduate’s behalf, the OBLPCT will make the final determination as to whether the graduate’s school counseling program meets the degree and course work requirements issuance of the LPC.

(Once all Oregon license program requirements, including tests, are complete, you are eligible to be recommended for a full, regular license in any state.)

How Long Do I Have to Apply to TSPC?

TSPC’s rules allow candidates 3-years to apply for their license, endorsement, or specialization following completion of a program. If it has been more than 3-years since completion, candidates will need to meet with a Lewis & Clark Graduate School faculty advisor to determine whether additional course work, testing, and/or field experiences are required, including admission into the current program.

How long will it take TSPC to issue my new license?

TSPC’s license processing time is approximately 4-weeks. (Updated 06/2024)
